Welcome to the Business Etiquette Program If you have immigrated to Canada, you may feel that you are not being offered or getting the best jobs, or perhaps you’re missing out on some business opportunities. This course has been designed to help you bridge the cultural divide between China and Canada and develop your business and job finding skills. Canadian workplace and business culture is likely different from what you have experienced in China. Some differences may immediately be clear and some may be subtle. For example, at a company party, of course you should make the effort to say hello to the company president and thank him or her for the party. That is clear. But, how do you introduce your wife or husband to the president? Whose name do you say first? This course will answer this question and provide many more guidelines on workplace, social, and business etiquette. The etiquette guidelines presented in each of the 5 modules present a variety of topics such as knowing the proper distance to stand from your colleagues to the proper way to introduce yourself and others. |
