The BOMA Floor Measurement e-Seminar consists of 3 modules. Each module is followed by a brief quiz and answer key with explanations.

Module 1: History of the Standard

An overview of the BOMA Standard, including its history and authority, the review process, and a comparison between the 1996 Standard and its predecessor, the 1980(1989) edition.

Estimated Learning Time: 45 minutes

Module 2: Overview of the Method

Learn the fundamental concepts, terms and definitions that are vital to accurately applying the BOMA Standard, including Gross Building Measurement, Gross Measured Area, Finished Surface, and Dominant Portion.

Module 3: Application of Measurement Principles

Apply the concepts you have learned in Modules 1 and 2. This module contains the seven-step method of measurement and focuses on how USEABLE, RENTABLE and COMMON AREAs are actually measured. In the process, learn how to avoid common problems created by certain aspects of measurement.
